Malaia

I love the feeling of finishing a bottle or tube of something, whether that be shampoo, lipgloss, or even chapstick. Whenever I do finish one I feel a sense of accomplishment. Like now, for instance, I finished off my Malaia perfume from Hollister.

It only took me 7 years to finish it though, from when I purchased it back in my "maybe Hollister is cool" phase in middle school. I now know otherwise since I have a few problems with Hollister.
  1. Hollister is so dark as if it's meant to blind customers from what they are actually wearing.
  2. Hollister's counterpart, Abercrombie & Fitch, had to pay Mike "The Situation" from The Jersey Shore not to wear their clothing.
  3. Hollister's marketing involves shirtless and sometimes even Naked men, which doesn't really send a great message to their preteen audience.
That sure looks like a warm jacket. It may actually work if it were zipped.

Back to the perfume itself, Malaia, which is described as "the natural beauty of a sundrenched Hollister girl. The essence of crisp water, sheer florals, and soft woody tones. The allure of the ocean and the California sun." I'd say it's generally a pretty nice perfume, but is best worn in preteen moments in life because it's like the female version of Axe. Although, Gerred thinks it smells nice, it's just not my "scent."

I assume this is Hollister's reaction to the perfume-- creepiness.

Now I leave you with this excerpt of A Mother's Prayer from Tina Fey's novel Bossypants"And when she one day turns on me and calls me a Bitch in front of Hollister, Give me the strength, Lord, to yank her directly into a cab in front of her friends, For I will not have that Shit. I will not have it."

  1. Hahahahaha that quote is hilarious. Also, I agree I once liked Hollister, but I definitely realize its..um..problems (Though I think #2 makes me respect them a little more...)
