Finals Stress

Are you stressed with finals? I sure was, there was a point where I really couldn't handle it or sleep. So here are just a few things to help you with stress.

  1. Breath
  2. Organize
  3. Sleep
  4. Exercise
  5. Reward Yourself

First things first, put your life into perspective. Is it really all that bad? I'm sure you'll be able to write that 10-20 page paper, you just need to believe it. There are also plenty of resources around campus you can take advantage of. Remember that the time you spend worrying about what you have to do takes time away from the actual work.

Organize your thoughts down on paper. If it's on paper, you'll be able to see your goals! Get a cool agenda like this one and highlight what you've finished.

Get as much sleep as you can. The combination of stress and a lack of sleep can make you sick. You'll feel better having that extra sleep when you're writing your paper. You might even want to work your schedule around for working earlier in the day so you are able to sleep.

I know it's winter and you're hibernating in your dorm room writing a paper, but get out and run at the free gym or even play some just dance with a few friends. Getting yourself moving will get your endorphins up and you'll be happy.

And always remember Elle Woods words of wisdom, "Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't shoot their husbands, they just don't."

As for rewarding yourself, you need to. It gives you the ability to work toward a goal and to break without feeling the guilt. Here are a few rewards I make for myself:

  1. Phone calls
  2. TV (Glee, Grimm, and American Horror Story)
  3. Holiday parties
  4. Painting your nails

And lastly these are two sites that I know will help you smile a bit:
